Comprehensive School Plan

At Bunker Hill Elementary School, we believe in joyful rigor to build a strong foundation for our students and purposefully prepare them to be productive members of our global community. In School Year 2017-2018, Bunker Hill Elementary School’s leaders and staff are focused on four big areas:
  • Literacy: This school year, we will decrease the number of students scoring at level 1 on the PARCC assessment. We will will develop effective and consistent literacy routines, procedures and structures, i.e., classroom setup, lesson structure, and instructional strategies.
  • Social Emotional Learning: To maintain at least a 97% student satisfaction rate, instructional and classroom management strategies will embed social-emotional instruction, i.e., team roles, team points, accountable talk structures/stems, small group rotation, and student choice in workstations.
  • Math: To increase the number of students scoring at a level 4 or 5 on the PARCC assessment, all mathematics classrooms will consistently adhere to the 90-minute mathematics block and provide small group math instruction to flexible groups of students.
